My
first time using Kahoot
I
logged on to the Kahoot website, signed up and went through the process of
creating an account. I used my google
email address as this is memorable.
I
found the layout of Kahoot very simple and easy to understand so on the back of
that it made my resources simple, when I knew what question I wished to
raise. I created two different Kahoot
games for my two very different classes that I teach.
One
class is an 18+ level 3 Beauty Therapy Class. My other class being a pre 16
level 1 Beauty Therapy Class.
The
outcome from both classes were the same, the learners really engaged in the
activity, they engaged in the competition side of the activity and how modern
the activity was. It really helps when
Kahoot shows the leader learner after every question and this motivates the
learners.
Kahoot
shows how many learners got the questions right and wrong collectively after
each question, this approach does not cause embarrassment and encourages
learners to carry on participating. This
approach helps me as a teacher understand what the learners are struggling with
and how many learners in the class are struggling. Access to this information helps me create
targeted lessons to help and teach learners put right the information they are
getting wrong.
This
resource is one that I would definitely use again, it helps me check learners
knowledge on topics and brings fun to learning.
